Academics

“I am proud of our school,” says Candida Stricklen, who has taught at Holy Cross School since 1995.  “We teach compassionately and work collaboratively with each other to stimulate and develop the hearts and minds of all children with all levels of competence and all styles of learning. From Kindergarten through Grade 8 our work with students and collaboration between teachers is standardized.” Teachers are trained in observational and assessment tools so that when they work with each student, parent, and teacher, they utilize common language, assumptions, and practices to help all kinds of minds excel.

Principal Kathleen Ryan is committed to helping the faculty strengthen our Student Study Team. “I am so pleased that our teachers are proud and confident of their work with students and parents. They are always eager to participate in professional development, particularly when it heightens their sensitivity to the needs of our children and to standardize our methodology, working together as children move through our academic program.”
