First Day of School 2010
Welcome to the 2010-11 school year!
Graduation 2010
The 148th Class of Holy Cross School celebrated Bacalaureate Mass and graduation ceremonies on Thursday, May 27. For the Savoni-Harmon family this was a very special day. Amy Savoni, pictured right, marked the completion of her 25th year as a teacher at Holy Cross School. Her husband Gary has been a stalwart volunteer at school as well. Their son Ben '05 attended St. Francis Central Coast Catholic High School and is a sophomore at California Maritime Academy. Class of 2010 Graduate Emily will attend St. Francis Central Coast Catholic High School and earned a $10,000 scholarship form St. Francis.
Ruby Wong '10 was also honored as the Outstanding Student of the Class of 2010. Lauren Price '09, who earned the distinction last year, presented the placque to Ruby, who will attend Notre Dame High School in Salinas. Ruby received a $500 award from Notre Dame as a distinguished incoming freshman.
Principals-for-a-Day
Fiona and Ronan Conley served as Principal-for-a-Day on May 19. Fiona is in Grade 6 and Ronan is in Grade 1. They assisted Principal Ryan with many of her duties including Morning Assembly, Class Observation, and scheduling for the last week of school. They offered two special treats to the school: faculty and the staff were offered doughnuts in the morning and all students received popsicles in the afternoon. We all enjoyed their eager service, gracious assistance, and budding leadership!
Biography Museum
Grade 2 presented their Biography Museum today. Each class visited the museum and parents had an opportunity to interview Abraham Lincoln, Amelia Earhart, Rosa Parks, George Washington, Christy McAuliffe, Josh Gibson, Thomas Edison, and more.
